Born in Naples, but currently living in Rome, I got a Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures and then I decided to deepen the translation field by getting a Master's Degree in Translation for Special Purposes.
During my academic career I had the chance to live abroad, in Spain - studying at the University of Córdoba - and then in England, London, where I worked as an in-house translator for a legal translations agency.
This last experience let me understand the role of translation as a mediation practice, a bridge between different societies and cultures, so I decided this would be the career I wanted to take up.
My working languages are Italian, English, and Spanish.
I also work with trusted colleagues to meet the needs of customers who work with other foreign languages.
In addition to the various language combinations, my translations range from various fields of specialization. I have worked in many fields but, since perfectly managing any sector is impossible, my main competences are the legal texts and the technical texts (I translated diving equipment manuals and courses by creating specific glossaries with professionals. As this discipline takes into account different parameters, I gained, from a linguistic point of view, competences in the chemical, physical, mechanical, computer and medical fields, to be applied in other types of translations).
My goal, in any case, is to constantly increase my skills and expand those already in my possession.
Among my clients there are Italian and foreign translation agencies, companies and private customers.
I am enrolled in the Board of Experts of the Chamber of Commerce of Naples and in 2017 I received a Certificate by Fondazione Italia-USA and the Ministry for Economic Development as Accredited Professional.
In order to make my translations nearest to perfection, I also use assisted translation programs - the so-called CAT-tools (Computer Aided Translation) - which, thanks to continuous verification processes, guarantee terminological uniformity and syntactic coherence even for large projects, facilitating productivity and ensuring high quality standards.
Nonetheless, of course, the human factor is and will always remain the key to the ultimate success of a good translation.
In order to keep up with the technical and methodological evolutions that characterize the world of translation, I regularly attend training and updating courses held by industry professionals and universities.
I have also experienced teaching activities for both private individuals of all ages, and public and private schools, companies and linguistic institutes.
